My Bloody Valentine – "New Song 2" (Cover)
A (very) rough instrumental acoustic cover of "New Song 2" by My Bloody Valentine.
The song was debuted during their recent 2018 tour, and a partial rough studio version was featured in series Kevin Shields did for Fender for the 60th anniversary of the Fender Jazzmaster (ua-cam.com/video/gxkzYCT2NGM/v-deo.html). As of yet, it's still unreleased and obviously untitled.
The textural guitars (from 0:59 on) and the "solo" (if you can even call it that) were all improvised, so it's far from perfect. In fact, all the guitar tracks are first takes and recorded on a five-string (my high E snapped a day before recording). Plus I had to resort to MIDI and a stock AU for the bass out of necessity. Fuck perfectionism.
